Aroa Venture Introduces Rs 400 Cr Fund To Back Upto 25 Startups

Aroa Opportunities Fund, a category II alternative investment fund (AIF) registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) in October 2022, has garnered significant traction, securing in-principle commitments exceeding Rs 400 crore, as per media report.

Launched by Aroa Venture Partners, a venture capital firm established in 2020 with notable investments in companies like Unacademy, Urban Company, and Cred, the new fund targets a corpus of Rs 400 crore (approximately USD 50 million).

The Aroa Opportunities Fund’s registration as a category II AIF underscores its strategic positioning within the regulatory framework, enabling it to cater to a diverse range of investment opportunities.

The fund’s launch signifies Aroa Venture Partners’ continued commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India.
